Last year I was told by our counselor to do this, if the person is talking about suicide. Immediately call the police and have him taken to the hospital. Period. Immediately. That was professional advice. If you're long distance, do the same thing (especially if you can't connect with your sister-in-law.) Waiting around and not knowing is the worst thing. If I were you and your father, make sure you get the local phone number of the police depart. where your brother lives and post it next to your phone. Tell your sister-in-law to do the same. Saving a life is the priority here. My counselor said if there's even a QUESTION in your mind that he may harm himself, those are the steps to take without hestitation.
