Guest guest Posted April 24, 2002 Report Share Posted April 24, 2002 The drug Pirfenidone blocks the biochemical process of inflammation and has been reported to slow or reverse pulmonary fibrosis in animal systems. Same with Interferon-Gamma 1 b (Actimmune) Interferon-Gamma 1b is being used right now. The drug Pirfenidone is currently in trials at NIH and Duke and a few others that I forgot. Since Pirfenidone has reached the stage of using the drug on humans, if it passes they will select your larger clinics first for the true test. I'm ready.!!!!! I found out today that my doctor is waiting on info from 4 other clinics in regards to using Actimune along with my PM. So, we'll see what she comes up with.
