Guest guest
What I want to know is if there are 94,110 medical transcriptionists in the U.S., then why aren't the other 93,426 here? (94,110 - 684 = 93,426) We need to get 'em on the list. Boy wouldn't THAT be an MT wing-ding! Think we'd blow up Yahoo?? <grin> ----- Original Message ----- Rennie did you get their mail which referred us to our salary averages? Here it is: What's Your 'Estimated' Salary? Go to www.bls.gov on the Internet. On the left-hand side of the page, under Occupations, click Wages by Area and Occupation. Next, click on For Over 700 Occupations. Click on Healthcare Support Occupations (31-0000). Scroll down to " Medical Transcriptionist " (31-9094). You can click on this number for a more detailed description of the MT profession. Guest guest
You're right, many MTs are on other lists. Of course, there are still some MT's without (gasp) internet access. Then there are the MTs with internet access who still haven't found Yahoo and it's wonderful groups. There are also some of us here at NMTC who still watch things on KAMT, just not as vocal there. I don't agree with their politics or many other things, but I still like to help out an MT any way I can, so I stick around and answer questions when possible. Sure glad you found NMTC, the right place to be for MTs. I was on KAMTLIST for a short time, but got sick of barbs at conservatives, Republicans and Catholics, of which I am all three. The owner is a very liberal gay man (no judging here; just stating a fact because his list topics strongly reflect gay interests) who heads a list of mostly liberal people who can be VERY hateful at times, both to outsiders and one another. Most of the messages posted to the list were of a liberal political nature. I quit the list when I found nmtc, and nmtc has been wonderful. The people on this list manage to be as friendly and polite as they are helpful. No more KAMTLIST for me. Thanks, NMTC 'ers.
