Guest guest
Hi, I found I like this recipe for BBQ sauce for chicken in the crock pot - - (the other sauce just seems to work best with country-style ribs) From " FIX IT AND FORGET IT: Feasting with your Slow Cooker " by Ranck & Good: (submitted by Mrs. Gray of Beatrice, NE) This is my fav cp cookbook, so far. The recipe in the book is for BBQ Spareribs, using country-style ribs, but I found I like this sauce more for chicken... 6 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless) 2-3 onions, sliced 1 can tomato soup, condensed 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 TBS soy sauce 1 tsp celery seed 1 tsp salt (optional) 1 tsp chili powder 1 dash cayenne pepper (every store in town is out of cayenne!? I omitted it) Cover the bottom of the crock pot with a layer of sliced onions. Mix the sauce ingredients and coat the chicken with it. Put the chicken on top of the onions. Pour the rest of the sauce over it. HIGH 1 hour, then cook on LOW 7-8 more hours. I like to serve this with niblets corn and steamed broccoli Cherie
