JoAnn,

Doing better all the way around. Stopped smoking 3 days now. Did kinda stupid

thing but had the nurse look at my feet. I did the usual dip in the paraffin and

today can't walk at all. It just flared up my RSD in the feet. Won't be doing

that again. Use it on my hands. Have to jimmy the computer so I can type and

still have my legs up in my w/c. It all works out. Waiting for the weather man's

true report so far batting about 3%. Working on getting this recipies written up

for the Apts cookbook. It's going to be a fund raiser. if I ever get typed up.

Going to catch up on mail.

Hope your weekend is going smooth as silk.

Luv Laurie'

JoAnn,

Do not feel like a failure that you can't handle your issues. You are by just

greeting the day and dealing with life moment by moment ..Thats all any one

asks. We are survivors I know I have it on highest authority.LOL. It's hard to

keep a survivor down.

Rest up sweetie,

Laurie

Sure do understand about the brain cells going in different directions making thinking anything logical or from a memory cell very hard. I sure hope down the road you are able to work at least part time as if you enjoy nursing it would be a great mental boost for you. I do drive, do not work and could not unless it was a job as volunteer where came when could and stayed for length of time could......doesn't sound like anyone is going to hire someone with those requirements does it?!!!!

I was put on total permanent disability by my Rhuematolgist a year ago next month. About made me throw up and when got the license plate showing handicapped made me even sicker. Was a very hard thing to do for me.

Well Jai, take good care and keep that SCS working perfect is sure a prayer will keep for you and others. My daughter has one and know she would not work without it. Hugs my friend

Jai if your SCS works well, could you work like maybe 2 days a week?s MommaJoAnnHi JoAnn,sorry for so long getting back to you, have not been feeling well, very exhausted. Getting back to work is my ultimate goal. I still have a ways to go though. As an RN being out of work as long as I have means I need to take a Nursing refresher course. Also I need to get my certs back up like ACLS CPR etc. I have kept my license current and have done all of my continuing education courses. I want it all NOW but I know it is going to take some time. Also I have some problems with cognitive deficits not just from the RSD or all of the mind numbing meds but since the original injury was a venomous bite it contains neurotoxin that affects memory, proprioception and what ever else it messes with!! Still can't drive yet either, I was assessed and my reaction times were too slow to be able to get my license. Hopefully with the SCS my meds can be reduced and I can work on the reaction times. I have a plan, it is just going to take a while! lolHow about you, do you work? can you drive? Forgive me if I have asked this before, sometimes the brain cells just don't connect like they used too!Take care, hope you are well, Love Jai

Hi JoAnn,It was good hearing from you through the group. I remember when Ijoined the group that I sent a few messages and then kinda stalled outdue to things happening in my personal life. Don't get me wrong andthink that it was bad stuff happening cause it was really amazingthings LOL.

Carla,

I don't know if you remember me I am Lin from Oregon. That is so wonderful that you have found someone to be with and I wish you much happiness. I it is also great that you have found a doctor willing to keep you out of pain.

I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I lived in League City for 6 years, always wanted to go back but with all the rain that Oregon gets I grew roots here.

welcome back,

Lin

Yes---I can't get back down to my normal agony. I've talked with the doc though and got med instructions as well as 'no' vacuum instructions. lol

I have help on the way. My mom and aunt are coming up to stay here a while---told them to bring the bulldozer to get in lol

Thank you JoAnn for your words about me. My body is doing okay both my legs are involved now and the pain level has stayed pretty constant level 7. I go to my doctor tomorrow so we will see what he says about my brain scan and the fun time I had in the ER. I will probably be going back to the new pain management and rehab center again, although he thought that about all they could was to help they would be to assist my doctor to try and get my pain back down to a lower level l am still getting the pain in my rib cage, and the only thing that is helping it is ibuprofen. I want to say that you are a very caring and giving person who has been a very good friend and I really pray that things are going good for you too. You are a very special person and I am honored to be your friend.
