I'm looking forward to my weight loss surgery, yet I am scared to death. I am almost finished with the insurance requirements in order to submit my paperwork for the precertification. The hospital that I am using for my surgery has a support group, but they are an hour away from where I live. I'm looking to this group to be part of my support group when I can't get to their meetings. (I hope that makes sense!) I'm very new to participating in Yahoo Groups. I'm not even sure if I'm submitting this post the right way! So, I guess that along with WLS Support I might need a little Tech Support too! I am really looking forward to hearing about other people's experiences and I would love to hear from anyone in the NJ/PA/NY area, especially if you have had (or are going to have) surgery with Dr. Koren. Thanks! [;]

Guest guest
If you go into your groups settings, you can have the emails come as a " digest " . That way you'll get about a dozen or so emails a day. Each one will have many postings, but there is a sort of " table of contents " at the top of each so you can skim the topics. It makes them much more manageable. in MI Welcome a! Unfortunately, I think fear of dying is probably one of the main reasons some of us consider and go through with this surgery. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or stories to share. > > in Virginia > 299/226/150 > height: 5'8 " > Lap RNY: 5/3/06 > > New member profile > > 1. Name: PJ > > 2. Guest guest
, A couple of things, this surgery isn't new. This surgery has been done for many many years, and has improved dramatically. Second, if you do your research you will find the mortality rate associated with this procedure is not what you think. The people who die as a result of surgery were well on their way to death prior to the surgery due to extremely poor health and in most circumstances die as a result of pre existing health conditions. Don't be afraid, be excited, this is a new and healthy life you will be undertaking and we will be cheering you on! Most importantly: Do some research and I am sure you will feel better. Check the Obesity Help website, its full of good clinical information! Debi --- nanover62 wrote: > 1. Name: > > 2. City and state: Chicago Area, Illinois > > 3. Guest guest
Hi - I had LAP RNY on 8/14/06. I started out at 272, I am now at 247, and my goal is 140. So, I guess I have lost 25 pounds so far. Can't wait to double it...triple it...then quadruple it! I am a bit eager to be in the 100s again! It has been about 10 years since I was last there. in Missouri LAP RNY: 8/14/2006 272/247/140 > > Welcome ! Sorry, I don't know anyone from your area. Looking forward to getting to know you.
