Dear Rotingut and Dave,

I just caught up with the emails from the last couple of days and I

just wanted to chime in and say that yes this is a question that I

have as well. Bill's eos % has been consistently high, as high as

15. Interestingly the only time this was normal was when he was in

the ICU with his pulmonary embolus and again when he was in the

hospital with his colon surgery. This does make me wonder just how

it fits in and it is a question that I would like to ask the experts

at our conference in April.

I wonder how many others in the group have had this value followed?

Anyone else have a high EOS % lab result?

Lee

Also , I think lab values must differ on what number is normal as

even when Bill's EOS % was 4.3 it was still flagged as high.

My eos started elevating w/ 10% being the lowest and are now

consistently around 28% and have gone as high as 38%.

The doctors are scratching their heads - suggesting this is rarer than

rare - as if PSC isn't rare enough. Worse yet - having them in my

blood isn't what was most concerning - finding them in the biopsy

specimens is causing quite a stir. Lymph node bx found none, stomach

and colin found none. Only liver.

I hate all the uncertainty surrounding this disease more than the

disease itself.

Nothing to hold on to. MD's are talking sterroids. I am relatively

healthy and now Prednisone will make me feel awful. Strange irony.
