Well the dr. is increasing the nuerontin byy 300 in split doses a day. It's wiping me aout again. But I'm bound and determined to make apple pie tomorrow. I have the apples all cut up and the spices mix. Just have to roll out the dough. Trying to do it in baby steps. Slept about 3/4 of the day. But the pain level is way down. Yesterday I could go by the clock when the pain started with a frenzy. Didn't realize that today was patch change day. I usually do it the night b4. So I think that explains alot to me why I was so messed up last nite.

I still need the chocolate chip cake recipe/ I will hand print it this time. To all of the group I wish you to have a wonderfull ,delightfull, restfull. weekend. Go a little nuts if you want to.

Laurie,

I am glad your pain level is down, and that you figured out something else too, my doctor had me on a 60 hour schedule instead of a 72. maybe that is something you could discuss with you. Neurontin will knock you out for a couple of days.

I hope you can get that apple pie made tomorrow.

I take 1600 mg of Neurontin a day and honestly I've never been able to

tell if I take it or not. I've had to get off of it at times due to

expense reasons and even quit cold turkey which I just found out this

past Monday that I should never do... but when I did I never even knew

it. I don't think it helps with the pain either but for some reason

my doc is convinced it does help so I just smile and nod as I swallow

it each day. He believes it's the combination of all my medications

and not just one that gives me a balance in controlling the pain.

But, I've never had it make me sleepy.

Now I wanted to ask a question.... As I wrote earlier I was having

problems with the Duragesic patch sticking and the only place I had

found I could keep it on was on my lower leg which happens to be my

injured leg. They fussed and fussed at me telling me that it needed

to be above my heart and finally I told them to find me something to

make them stick and I'd be glad to move it. Well, they did find

something LOL. So, yesterday I moved it to my left upper arm and

today I've been dizzy, nauseated and just kinda in a stupor. Do you

guys think that maybe I wasn't getting the true effects of my pain

patch because I'd been wearing it on my leg for almost a year? I'm

just really puzzled by this feeling today.

Hope everyone is feeling well.. Take care of yourselves!

Carla,

It would seem to me that you were not getting the full effect on your leg but I can't say for sure. I would maybe call your pharmacist and ask them if they know, and if they don't know I would definitely call your doctor. You need to find out why you are having these symptoms now and be sure it is not dangerous for you to continue using them.
