Guest guest
I have done another hair test after about a year of chelation. Before I did it, I gave chelation a break for about two months with the idea to let hair grow which isn't showing what is chelated out of the body, but what is in the body now. I now assume that, if the mineral transport seemed normal, the level for the toxic metals (other than mercury) and the essential and other elements would indicate what is in the body. I don't think you can tell about mercury at all. Dagmar. [ ] How to interprete a hair test AFTER chelation? Hi, How do you interprete an hair test after several months of chelation? Regarding the heavy metals, what does it mean if they are lower, or higher than the initial hair test? My guesses are: lower: great! everything is out! especially if levels were high (red and yellow zones) in the initial test. higher: great! chelation is working, keep on going... what about mercury? I would not trust a low level to mean that it is out.. Actually, does some people have high mercury level after chelating? I read that inorganic mercury is not excreted much through hairs. Regarding essential minerals, is there anything to interprete? Can we ajust supplements based on the results? how? If the counting rules are still met does it mean that the person is still very toxic or that the supplements in place are not dosed effectively? I am thinking of doing an hair test after 8 months of chelation (30 rounds) but would not know how to interprete it.. Thanks, =======================================================
Guest guest
I posted a similar query a bit ago. My son's second test after about 6 months of chelation showed him failing the one test that he was okay on the first time, with much less skewed results on the other 2 that were pretty bad the first time. Antimony and lead were much higher, leading me to believe that these things are really, really inbedded, and that a true reading of non-toxic is way, way down the road. Mercury was non-existent as a reading, again suggesting that it's really deeply ingrained and will not be out for a very long time. Also, the fact that my son is older (almost 11) and is still only showing subtle gains after about 22 rounds makes me believe that we are in this for a very long haul to realize any real gains, regardless of hair tests readings. Guest guest
> Hi, > How do you interprete an hair test after several months of chelation? I would interpret it as follows: 1. If disordered mineral transport, then person is still VERY mercury toxic. 2. if normal mineral transport (but previously disordered) then the person has started to normalize at the " gross " level of symptoms. This does NOT mean they are not mercury toxic. 3. if normal mineral transport, then I would look carefully at levels of all other toxic metals (and copper) to see if any problems there. 4. I would generally consider really high or really low scores on essential elements to be " odd " but I would not know whether it means to supplement or not, as a rule. I realize this is not exactly " making a lot out of it " , but that is what I would make of it. good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
> How do you interprete an hair test after several months of chelation? This is incredibly difficult to do and depends on what the original test looked like. Guest guest
> Hi, > How do you interprete an hair test after several months of chelation? With great caution, I don't think it is very informative except when copper is very elevated. > Regarding the heavy metals, what does it mean if they are lower, or > higher than the initial hair test? You totally ignore the heavy metals and pay attention to mineral trasnport derangement. Once that is normal, you start paying attention to heavy metals. Most people with mercury start with it very low in hair and it goes up A LOT as they improve. This is a GOOD sign, not a bad one. > My guesses are: > lower: great! everything is out! especially if levels were high (red > and yellow zones) in the initial test. > higher: great! chelation is working, keep on going... > what about mercury? Not much until mineral transport is pretty normal. >Can we > ajust supplements based on the results? No. The limited exceptions are adrenal signs (NaK very different from CaMg) which mean take adrenal support supps, and high copper (use zinc) or very high zinc (which means take more zinc, not avoid it). > If the counting rules are still met does it mean that the person is > still very toxic or that the supplements in place are not dosed > effectively? It is unclear what it means, but they are still significantly toxic. > I am thinking of doing an hair test after 8 months of chelation (30 > rounds) but would not know how to interprete it.. It will probably look worse. 8 months is the peak of the " roller coaster. " See page 52 of my book Amalgam Illness.
