Weigh meat after cooking and trimming.

I think that there can be lethargy with higher ketones. The other thing

to be aware of is the need for a GOOD vitamin and mineral supplement as

the symptoms of a lack of some of these can be lethargy. (as well as

other bad but not so obvious symptoms) If you are raising the ratio, you

are cutting down on what little is in the diet.

If you are still on any meds, their effects can also change with changes

in the ratio.

I always weighed food after it was cooked and will do the same if

goes back on the diet.

I was wondering if any of you weigh the meat before you cook it or after??

It really does make a big difference. It has been awhile since we weighed

food as we are coming back onto the keto diet after being on Atkins

modified

for a year and I can't remeber the diet protocol.

I also wondered if any of you have noticed when you change ratios if your

children seem more lethargic and if so, does it pass?? is

really

lethargic since we/re upping the ratio.

Thanks for your help!!

Hi

It depends on which figures you use . . . the figures are different for raw

and cooked.

In my experience though, the figures for cooked are inaccurate because the

weight, and hence food values of the food differ according to the length of

cooking time. You can test this theory yourself by taking 2 pieces of

steak (or other meat) with the same raw weight and cooking one for say 8

minutes and one for 12 minutes and comparing the cooked weights. Both

pieces have the same food value, but different cooked weights . . . hence

the inaccuracy.
