I disagree - I want to hear what the govt. is doing when it comes to laws or

policies that affect our kids or people with disabilities. Maybe that means I

have that " certain mindset " . These messages are usually labelled as political

or marked OT, so just delete them without reading them if they're bothersome -

some of us find them relevant!

It would be difficult to totally eliminate OT political posts. If we did, we

would have to get into specifics, like only allowing them if they have something

to do with mercury, etc. I just ask that everyone please label them OT that way

others can delete them. If a debate starts, thats another issue. I don't have

time to read every single post, because I belong to three large lists. I often

have to delete messages based on the subject line.

Sorry Mel, but there are many of us who want to be kept up to date. If you don't

like it then simply read the subject line and don't open.

[ ] Stop the political messages!

I am tired of people throwing their political views in my face!

You are not fooling anyone in your attempt to say you are just trying to keep

people informed. The slant of each article is clear, as are your political

viewpoints.

The thing is, this is a listserve for autism and the affects of mercury in

relationship to autism.

I am just really tired of people who want to spread their political message

and viewpoint in places they are not called for.

Please, try having a little respect for other people ( I know this is a

quality that is terribly lacking in people with a certain mindset, but try)

who

want to dedicate what little free time they have to resolving the

mercury-autism

issues.

Keep to the tittle of this listserve. Post your political messages elsewhere.

Thanks

Mel

Perhaps this can be resolved by simply being grown up and not obsessing

on one's personal views too often when posting or responding to

political news?

E.g . bill XYZ doing PQR is being sponsored and supported by Senator

Ima Jerk, esq. is informative. General discussion of how evil this

person is and how important it is the other party take control of the

senate is political debate really not relevant to the issues at hand.

Perhaps limiting the second kind of information somewhat more than it

has been will make the first kind more welcome, widely read and

effective?

For example, I do not discuss religion on the list, and am VERY

restrained at discussing morality or politics. This helps us all stay

focussed on and share information relating to the topics we have in

common.

Andy . . . . . . . . . ...
