Guest guest
I started the MB12 shots in July of this year (have only started the SCD two weeks ago). They have help 's BM a bit. But the most noticeble difference is his language. He started using full sentences and his vocabulary exploded. Everyone (family, friends and teachers) noticed how well he was doing. I hope it helps you to. Francine. 3yr old with Language disorder, SCD two weeks > Do any of your children receive B12 shots? What have been the results for > you? Guest guest
Wow Francine, I hope I see similar results. Right now nna has to be prompted to use sentences. How long was he getting the shots before you saw results? How often does he get the shots? Thanks!! Guest guest
We started in July 19th and he gets them every three days. It took a while because was sick with the 24 hour flu that lasted three weeks! It wasn't until the beginning of August that we started to see a difference. The teachers assistant noticed that his eye contact was increasing and he was more talkative. Then a few days later my neighbour almost fell over when she heard saying a complete sentence. Are you being prescribed the Methyl B12 or other B12? I hope it helps you to, Francine. > > > Do any of your children receive B12 shots? What have been the > > results for > > > you? Guest guest
Yes, my daughter will have a good bowel movement the next day...............but this is a plus for us due to her chronic constipation. She is also happier and in a better mood. Better overall functioning. Kathy mom to Abby and Hannah > > Do any of your children receive B12 shots? What have been the results for > you? Guest guest
" excuse my ignorance but what is a B-12 shot? and who administers it and why? " Aileen, A B-12 shot is an injection of vitamin B-12. Usually a parent administers the shot, but I am sure that there are a few people who have it done at a doctor's office. As for why: B-12 is only absorbed in the ileum, which is the location of much intestinal damage in many kids with autism. I'm not sure if you are familiar with Dr. Wakefield's research, but many of the ASD kids that have been scoped have ileo lymphonodular hyperplasia. So, those kids are not absorbing B-12 from their food or from oral supplements. A lot of research has been done lately by Jill on the methylation issues in autism. You can read her powerpoint presentation on the Autism Research Institute webpage. http://www.autism.com/ari Click on the DAN! link.
