needle biopsy

Hi all, I have been a lurker here since I was diagnosed, about 3 years ago.

At that time a stricture was opened up and I have been without symptoms

since. Fortunately I am one the lucky ones who doesn't have any colon

complications to add to the troubles.

A couple of months ago, I started showing symptoms again, jaundice,

colangitis attacks, pain, etc. My GI did another ERCP and couldn't reach

any strictures to open them up. He now wants to do more tests, so tomorrow

I am scheduled for a MRCP, which doesn't worry me, and Wednesday I will

have an ultrasound guided needle biopsy. That one worries me. I never

have wanted to be stabbed. My question is how long is the recovery from

the procedure and what problems show up from the puncture. I guess I just

need some hand holding before something new.
