Guest guest
I just spoke to a Mom doing SCD and she said that brown rice is now legal. Is that true. Boy it would make my life a lot easier since we are dealing with nut allergies. Thanks, Rosie
Guest guest
No........ it is not legal on SCD. SCD is completely grain free...... that means ZERO. If this mom has heard something about brown rice being legal, she's thinking about some other diet..... not SCD. Guest guest
" she said that brown rice is now legal. Is that true. " Rosie, I'm sorry, but she is sorely misinformed. RICE OF ANY SORT IS ILLEGAL. It is possible that she was confused by the information that certain enzymes with rice BRAN in them are okay for SCD. This is true. Elaine approved the Houston Enzymes Rice bran formulation after corresponding with Devin Houston on the make up of the rice bran - which is actually an oil. Guest guest
Rosie, Brown rice is not and never will be legal on SCD. It is a STARCH, a polysaccharide, and all such are illegal. <wry grin> My husband, who loves his rice, would be happy if it were legal because then I'd fix it for him again. I have to sympathize with you about the nut allergy, but no, brown rice is not legal. Whoever that mom was who told you it is SCD-legal is either thinking of a different diet than SCD, or she may have been confused by the fact that Elaine has said rice bran is OK as a filler in certainly supplements. (Myself, I try to avoid even that....) Good luck and may your creativity in find ways to cope run rampant! -- Marilyn (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA)
