Less toxic paint.

Can't speak to the mercury issue you raised, but we painted our house

with no/low VOC (volatile organic compunds) paint from Sherman-

named Harmony. Very, very little of the usual lingering

smell normally associated with indoor paint. Our child has liver

detox issues, so this paint has been a real help.

the EPA banned mercury from interior latex paint in 1990. But if

I did tons of research, and the safest is the harmony from S/W. And,

they will usually give you a 20% discount if you tell them its due to

handicapped reasons. There is one other company that is similar to

S/W Harmony but I forget the name, but I know its sold at a paint

store not somewhere like Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

I just built a house and used all " safe " products.

Wow, Debbie! Can you share all your sources with the group? So many of us

have sensitive kids that this information would be a real help!
