You may have just introduced the goat yogurt too soon. We suggest waiting until

about 3 months SCD. And we usually suggest you start with only 1/8 tsp.........

then increase very, very slowly. It's puzzling that she tolerated store bought

yogurt before but not this, though. Are you sure it was a reaction? We know that

the yogurt often triggers more die-off..... which would be temporary, of course.

Maybe that's what it was?

In the meantime, yes, I think you should supplement some acidophilus. There is

information on www.pecanbread.com about the Custom Probiotics acidophilus. If

she tolerated cow milk products before SCD, you might consider the acidophilus

from Lucy's Kitchen Shop...... www.lucyskitchenshop.com ...it's SCD legal but

does contain a trace of cow's milk. Hopefully, you'll be able to reintroduce the

yogurt again in the future, very slowly.

probiotics

Hi, My 4.5 year old asd daughter has been on the diet for 6 weeks and is

doing great. We tried goat milk yogurt 2.5 weeks ago for about a week (1 tbs

per

day) and she had a bad reaction, so we stopped for at least 2-3 months. ( she

alway tolerated store bought yogurt). Should i try probiotics at this point?

If so, what type?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello,

my son has been SCD x 6 weeks. I am having trouble with the

acidophilus. I have been giving him a trace amount once a day for

about a week. When I increased that to about 1/4 tiny scoop, he got

hyper for 2 days. I know that I have to build up to 1 tiny

scoop/day, but is it supposed to be going so slowly?

What about the nut yoghurt? When should I be introducing that?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

(6 yo ASD, SCDx 6 wks)
