Mel I think there are a couple of books, I think the one being referred to

here is " The Child with Special Needs - Encouraging Intellectual and Emotional

Growth " - by Greenspan and Weider - the whole book is about play, interaction

and what parents can do to help :)

I thought it was all over the place lol! Lots of examples of the kid trying

to shut the parent out of the play, and Greenspan showing the parent how to

insert himself into the child's play to start making connections.

To add to the confusion I read: " Raising a Child with Special Needs " by

Greenspan (sorry I lend it to another parent

and can't remember the co-author)

I can highly recommend the book.
