Guest guest
We have that book, I just don't remember anything quite like this. What chapter? That book has made playing with my son possible, and actually fun. Nell >>
Guest guest
Mel I think there are a couple of books, I think the one being referred to here is " The Child with Special Needs - Encouraging Intellectual and Emotional Growth " - by Greenspan and Weider - the whole book is about play, interaction and what parents can do to help HTH Mandi in UK > We have that book, I just don't remember anything quite like this. > What chapter? > Mel > > In a message dated 1/21/04 7:01:50 AM, > writes: > > <<Subject: Re: Is this imaginative play? > > <<Take a look at Stanley Greenspan's " The Special Needs Child " for really > great > >

Lots of examples of the kid trying to shut the parent out of the play, and Greenspan showing the parent how to insert himself into the child's play to start making connections. Guest guest
To add to the confusion I read: " Raising a Child with Special Needs " by Greenspan (sorry I lend it to another parent and can't remember the co-author) I can highly recommend the book.
