I think you will not find any " kids " supplements that don't have added

sugars/starches. What many of us do is use adult formulas and cut them down. For

example, most adult dosing for supps and over the counter stuff is based on a

person weighing 150 lbs....... Katera weighs just over 50 lbs, so I just give

her a third of the adult dose. You'll just need to read all the ingredients on

any label.... and make sure there were no illegal additives.

Isn't there a list acceptable supplements on PecanBreed? (Kirkman's

Super Nu-Thera Caplets and capsules)

While we're talking supplements: Brainchild say they have made a

legal SCD supplement(Spectrum Support Ultra-Sensitive Formula), and

it's in the legal list on PecanBread, but there's still Xantham Gum

in it. Is this a Typo on their page?

We're also looking into Child essence from Integrative

Therapeutics, There only one ingredient I'm not sure about:

ascorbyl palmitate?

Yes, there is xanthan gum in the Brainchild formula.... and Elaine has talked to

the Brainchild owner and decided that this particular supplement can be

considered " acceptable " for the ASD kids only. It is not technically " SCD legal "

in the broader sense. Lang explained to me that the xanthan gum they use

is a very high quality, pharmaceutical grade..... which, he believes, is

unlikely to actually feed gut pathogens. I guess Elaine must have been convinced

enough to give it the nod.... although for very sensitive individuals, it still

*may* be a problem...... it's impossible to say. She wants the ASD kids to have

the advantage of a good supplement formula that is designed for their needs....

and has been unable to find any other way of suspending the various

nutrients in a liquid form without the xanthan gum. So..... it's an individual

decision. Elaine has definitely said " OK " ..... to the Brainchild Ultrasensitive

formulas only.

I don't know about the ascorbyl palmitate in the other supp you're referring to.

Not sure what that is.

Hi There,

Just wanted to answer the question about BrainChild Nutritionals

Ultra-Sensitive Formula. In May of this year Elaine personally approved

this supplement for use on the SCD. She determined that the very small

amount of xanthan gum in them was not a concern. You may check with

Tamaro, who is a mom who works closely with Elaine, to confirm

this information.
