Guest guest
, I resent the implication with the $$ signs in Son-Rise. For everyone's information, my friend has 5 children. Two of her boys regressed into autism following the MMR vaccine. The middle son started the high-pitched crying and had a 105 temperature within 10 minutes, for 10 hours, and was " gone " the next day. He'd never shown a sign of autism previously. They have nurses in the family. The last son wasn't supposed to get an MMR, but a nurse gave it to him by mistake. He regressed into autism within 2-3 weeks. He hadn't shown a sign of autism previously. She had both boys, now 11 and 9, as tots in the local special segregated school for autism. She took both out (first son was in a while) and did expensive ABA at home with Rutgers staff visiting. This may have worked on academic stuff, but not social. She stopped this, built Son-Rise classrooms for both boys in the basement, and started 2 Son-Rise programs. With Son-Rise, you encourage the kids to become good " try-ers. " You want them to know that people are desirable to be around. You start with the social and let the academic follow, working it in. She has FIVE children. She sends her other kids to parochial school. She couldn't afford all the bio-medical stuff, but she did do special diet from an early age. And she started two Son-Rise programs. Long story short: Her 11 year old son, at 10 years old, went through rigorous psychological testing and no longer met the criteria for autism. He was one of the gentlest youths the tester had ever met. He was mainstreamed in a local middle school WITH NO AIDE. She is a remarkable woman. She started a foundation: Heal Autism Now Delaware (HAND Foundation). And even with 5 sportsy-active kids and a husband who travels for work, she helped her challenged boys and helps others, too. She has tried through the legislature towards obtaining more educational choice for children in Delaware. My friend does not appear to me to be wealthy, and Son-Rise does not appear to me to be a multi-level marketing scheme. I have met Raun Kaufman; I could see a faint mannerism reminiscent of autism, but other than that, he drove all the way to Delaware from Massachusetts to speak at a public hearing trying to get educational choice for these children in Delaware.... When he was a tot he spun plates, then his mom did the first 1,000 hours with him herself, and so on.... I only hope my son can drive independently that far -- or at all -- and give a speech like that some day. If you would like to hear nice things about Son-Rise, please e-mail her at: jne@... Guest guest
You don't have to spend a dime to implement a Son-Rise program. You can check out the books at the library. You can use any room in your house and the toys you have at home. You can get volunteers and work with your child yourself. We have done every therapy on the books. Son-Rise is the only one that is not about money.\ If you want to go to the institute you can get financial aid to hear about the program yourself. We just raised over $1000 to sent to Massachusetts so that other families could use that to attend classes. But you do not need to attend classes. The Kaufmans (the founders) did not. Just read the books and ask around to talk to other parents doing Son-Rise. Unless you are intimately familiar with Son-Rise you won't understand the miracle. It is the most loving, supportive approach to connecting with another human being that I have ever come across. xox to all you dedicated parents for your loving work with your children, E Re: Thoughts on autism _ $on ri$e > > > > > > > > > > > > there are dissenting opinions on $on ri$e, like its a cleverly > > disguised form of multi level marketing and its promoters are taught > > techniques appropriate to that > > > > http://rsaffran.tripod.com/sonrise.html > > > > good ol A & P she used to post quite a bit on the #autism board when > > the net was still young. > > > > A & P is the author of > > > > > > http://www.family2000.org.uk/martian_in_playground.htm > > > > and the daughter of a british lord > > > > $on ri$e is pretty typical of what happens in california i think, i > > don't watch movies on principle now, supporting that sort of money > > glamour underlying deep life poverty............ values so shallow a > > razor blade width would be thick. > > > > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > > > > > I have seen some changes in my son the last weeks and this has > > > > made me > > > > > get some new hope for these children, that I would like to share > > > > with > > > > > you all. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Ulla scheinemann > > > > > (9), ASD + seizures, SCD 13 months > > > > > (7), ASD, SCD 13 months > > > > > > > > \Wow, Ulla, that is great. Guest guest
, Just interested to know what your knowledge of and experience is with Son-Rise. Did you go through a program yourself?
