Guest guest
Carol/Sheila - You're both from Canada? > > Question 1 - fruit> He had his first bit of banana today... still no poops today, so no data. > > Question 2 - Veggies/protien We're loading up on the veggies, veggie pancakes this morning. Carol... I'll get back to you re: fitday/protein... I'll do this later tonight. Thanks. > > Question 3 - Garlic, spices, herbs, etc. From, both of your answers, I don't think we have a problem... he only uses fresh spices and herbs (many from the garden). Typically, he grinds them in his gigantic mortar and pestle (sp?) or in spice grinders, etc. The particular spices in question (last night)... he put them into a homemade spice packet (like cheese cloth) so he could take it out. And, he just boiled the entire garlic clove in the stew and took out the entire clove afterwards. So this way, we're just getting the taste, not the actual stalk/seed/whatever. Guest guest
> > Carol/Sheila - You're both from Canada? > Yes we are. I am a duel citizen as of last month (after living in Toronto 53 years and the U.S. the rest of time until then.) Geographically, Sheila and I are very far from each other but totally united when it comes to SCD! Cooking with herbs, spices, butter, Dijon mustard and even wine makes SCD meals taste like they were prepared by a gourmet chef. Whole Foods sells lovely organic herbs in flat snap shut celluloid containers that protect them in the freezer. A few scissor snips into food takes flavor far above the ordinary. Favorites: Bay leaf, sage, oregano, basil, rosemary, parsley, thyme, marjoram Brand: s Farm Carol F.

If the constipation doesn't resolve soon, you might want to cut out the herbs and spices at least until things get moving. Sometimes they can irritate people which will either mean D or C. Let us know how he makes out. Sheila
