I don't know where you live, but there are several brands of sugar

free bacon. I really, really think you should find or order it and not

use the bacon with sugar. Elaine has never said that soaking

the bacon gets rid of the sugar.

Also, the bananas should not have any green on them.

What type of cashew butter are you using?

A quick note regarding sugar-free bacon: We have found that our

large, local grocery store slices up their own fresh strips of " side

pork " and places them in the cooler near the packages of pork chops.

We have checked, and the pork has absolutely nothing added to it, nor

is it smoked. We fry it up in the pan - it looks very similar to

regular bacon, but the slices are a bit thicker. To sweeten it, we

sometimes drizzle a bit of honey over the strips in the last minute

of cooking. We cook up a lot at a time, and freeze some of the

strips in small zip-lock bags, to have handy when we're going to

someone's house for brunch, or for when we need a quick snack. It's

delicious, especially knowing you can't have regular bacon anymore!

Saying a prayer that you and your family are sent the support that

you need to get this sorted out for your son. Take care.

This may be a long shot, but August is always a bad month for us. If

you check the archives you will find my rants about how ragweed

affects Sam! It's mostly a behavioral change for him and removing

certain foods seems to help him deal with the ragweed better. For us,

removing lemons, grapefruit and cantaloupe helped alot.

Sam wouldn't eat cooked fruit either. We stuck with bananas until he

was able to handle really really ripe pears and moved on from there

very very slowly. Alot of the foods your DS is eating are alos high

phenols. If he is reacting to the ragweed, the phenolic foods may be

irritating his already " on high alert " system. You could try

substituting pears for apples, pineapple juice for OJ..etc. It's alot

to think about at once! Try to take it one thing at a time so you

don't go completely mad!

Definately stick with it! We didn't really see consistent results with

Sam until 6 months in and he continues to have a yeasty rash around

his mouth now and then.
