Guest guest
We've been eating goat yogurt for months. We were Casein free for a month, a few months into the diet with absolutely no difference in behavior or stool. I know he is not reacting to the dairy; this new behavior is out of nowhere and is basically how every August has been in his short 5 years. He's been great before August! Most of May, June and July were awesome. It's like I got my son back and I was so thankful to SCD. Now it's like he's never been on it; like preSCD and it's been that way for an entire month. If he's reacting to everything he was eating in those great months, then that makes my life just that much harder! I am aware of the leaky gut connection, but am still puzzled that even after 7 months of SCD, the stupid August reaction is happening just as bad as every other year without Feingold or SCD. It's very frustrating. I started SCD to combat yeast and help his gut heal so his allergies would go away; August comes along and wipes all that out! I'm not even sure if a leaky gut was ever the culprit now. This latest regression has me doubting SCD was ever what Sam needed. I will stick with it as long as I feel it's necessary. If this reaction lasts as long as the bad regression in Dec 2003 (which lasted 3 months into SCD until May 2004!) then I doubt very seriously that SCD will help in the long run for us. Guest guest
Chrystee, You are probably doing all this already but since you think it is pollen...Do you rinse him & his hair off before putting him to bed to remove all the pollen? Especially on the days he is outside. Wash his sheets too if he slept on them without a shower. And his hair and clothes can hold quite a load of pollen so perhaps making sure he changes into fresh clothes after being outside or on the way to bed. We have grumpies around here too with pollen so I really feel for you. I'm sure you know all this but thought I'd send it just in case, Bonnie, scd since May > We've been eating goat yogurt for months. Guest guest
Chrystee, This may be of little consolation to you, but I thought I would post anway. This August has been the worst, by far, of any allergy seasons for us. Poor is needing breathing treatments every 4 hours (the closest together that I can give them). He sounds terrible. He's already had a chest x-ray to make sure that he didn't have pneumonia. Have you ever heard of Gastrocrom? It's a mast cell inhibitor. With the pollens so bad, I am sure that some of them are getting ingested as he breathes and swallows. I wonder if the Gastrocrom would help him. It might be worth at least looking into. Are you giving him allergy medication? If so, what? Jody mom to -5 and -8 SCD 19 months
Guest guest
Interesting.... Thanks for posting this. I'm sticking to it. Making sure he gets yogurt everyday and adding MSM in to help with the seasonal allergies. If that works maybe I'll try another supplement, slowly of course. I haven't really tried them yet and maybe it will help. Chrystee > Dear listmates, > We are at 11 mos SCD and without a doubt 7 months was the absolute > worst regression I had seen thus far.
