Felice I do not know the quality of meds in Mexico, do know many buy their meds there, all kinds and no of none to have problems but sure some have. ANyway just thought maybe you could get the Neurotin in Mexico at a very low cost, just would have to be careful and make sure the drug was safe and do not know how to go about that. Maybe someone would have an idea. I am just so sorry for you having to be without a med that gives such relief for you. I think lawyers can be great but seems like almost all things there are groups that look for nothing more than to make as much money as can without thinking of what they do to patients like yourself and the rest of us and others who need to have these meds. Will keep you in my prayers Felice and pray you somehow are able to get the med you need. Just so sorry for this.

Re: Neurontin

Hi All,

Well the stupid medium and other who have decided that Neurontin is a "monster"drug have finally won in Florida.

The state will no longer pay for any seizure medicines used for pain control. The fact that I have seizures when I don't take this drug and have attack on attack of the Trigeminal neuralgia is not a concern for them. They cut me off cold turkey with no warning and since the prescription is more than my monthly Social Security check I can't afford to pay for it.

Take this as a warning because my doctor feels very strongly that since there are no drugs that are directly for use on RSD patients that Boycotting and other expensive drugs are next. That this is really a financial and political thing that has been allowed by the media scare of cross over drugs.

I am so angry that a big time Law firm is showing a commercial asking if anyone you know has committed suicide on Neurontin. I only know that if you go down on your dose without careful withdrawal you do become confused and if there have been suicides then it was probably from that, not using the drug properly than from doing what your doctor has ordered.

And I don't want to live without it. No, I am not saying I will kill myself I am saying that the quality of my life is going to be drastically reduced without it.

I am so angry right now and very scared. I am only able to wean down slowly due to helpful friends who have given me a supply.

Of course I am going to try and talk to my state representative and also the manufacturer of Neurontin offering myself as the perfect poster person for representing this drug . I just hope I can get a change in the policy before the next ten days are up.

Hi All,

Well my doctor did the official appeals route for my Neurontin and I was denied again. I am waiting to get a copy of the denial and then will send a letter off to the Governor and my state representatives and the maker of Neurontin.

It seems crazy to me that they would rather pay for a hospitalization when it would be cheaper to pay for the Neurontin for the entire year. Of course I am scared of what is going to happen when I am finally off the Neurontin. I still remember the painful Trigeminal Neuralgia attacks that I used to have before taking it and don't look forward to living like that again. Then, of course, there is the RSD pain to deal with also and add on top of that the brain recovering from he lack of Neurontin and it is not a pretty sight.

Has anyone in this group gone totally off these seizure medications that had the problems with semi comatose behavior when taken off the Neurontin without weaning down? If so how long did it take you to get back to normal?

Felice, Im so sorry to hear that they denied you again, thats awful!

It has to be so frightening to consider what may happen again once

you come off the neurontin. I've yet to figure out how insurance

companies work, it just doesnt make sense how they would rather pay

the larger sum in the end rather than save the $ in the immediate.

Just another reason why we pay so much for healthcare! Take care

Felice and know we are here for you.

Hugs

Felice - Do you have at least enough of the Neurontin to gradually wean off of it? It seems really ridiculous to me that they would force you into a position to have to abruptly stop it. It just isn't "solid medicine." Barbara felicet867@... wrote:
