JoAnn, Do you have any chewing tobacco or a cigarrette. Take the tobacco and make a paste. Put the past on the sting and it will take the swelling out almost immediately. My grandmother used to do this for us when we were growing up.Then put a baking soda paste on top. Keep your eyes closed for awhile and rest. Take benedrl and rest. Make sure someone watches you in case you do develop a reaction to the sting. I hope this helped this time if not maybe you can try next time.

Love,

DebDog

Thanks Jo, at this time is burning very badly, feels like sting, burn and lid area red and swelling. I have no allergy that know of but the pain is getting worse. Do have crushed ice in plastic and in towel holding it to eye. I think may have to get into bed but at same time thought reading emails might distract me. Just hate having to delete so many emails either today or tomorrow. Most likely will not delete today as take more thinking than able right now. Have good day Jo

JoAnn,

My first suggestion would be to put a cool compress on it. The one thing I don't have a suggestion for is if the bee left his stinger... usually I would suggest a mud pack, but since it is your eye...

Do you have an allergy to bees? If so, call your Dr.

Hugs,

Jo

Thank Deb, I did not read you email prior to my leaving to Ophthalmologist. But will use it if happens again or anything similar, trouble is don't smoke. But anyway did go to doctor, did get hit by a bee going at least 200 mph, trust me, it hurt just the power of the hit. Anyway looked to see if stinger had gotten through eyelid into eyeball but for now looks just irritated under eyelid, into eyelashes and all of lid into corner. Burns like heck have ointment and if not better tomorrow have to go back. I put the ointment in but hoped would take sting/burn out of lid and is not working. Is also to be put into eyeball for infection, etc. Has a steroid in it.

Was a really strange day and not sure it is all done with. Now for you, what is this DebDog thing, due to not liking cats? If so hope you do not mind but rather call you Deb or Debbie as DebDog just does not roll off my tongue or fingers really well. Silly woman, Can just imagine introducing yourself as " Hello I am DebDog" that would get a strange look for sure. Sort of like the Iam Hogg, Youra Hogg and Wera Hogg from Texas. Have no clue why they named their 3 girls that.

Well gotta check emails and please forgive me all if delete email meant for me. Just have to get cleared out as still over 300 emails. Thanks again Deb for advise. Hope your day was well.

JoAnn - "Sort of like the Iam Hogg, Youra Hogg and Wera Hogg from Texas. " Lordy, girl, you sure are silly !

I'm glad they gave you something for your insect sting. Ouch. I hope it starts feeling better soon. (I started to type keep an eye on it but then I realized you'd end up having to look at it all cross-eyed and that would be funky). Love ya ! BarbaraJoAnn & Russ Ford wrote:
