This is exactly what you expect. Someone with low plasma sulfate will

do better if they eat more sulfury stuff.

The sulfate to cysteine ratio suggests the Feingold diet may help.

The most important thing is to get back to chelating. . .. .

Look at Andy's post 57707. It seems to me you are doing the right thing by

feeding him sulfury things which agree with him and that additionally you could

exclude things from his diet which require sulfation.

Dagmar.

[ ] plasma cysteine/sulphate

Hi everyone.

It's been eons since I have posted since our chelation went on hold

about a year and a half ago.

Recently I have been trying to find info on plasma cysteine and

sulphate. I did read through Andy's old posts on this topic in the

archives, but unfortunately I wasn't able to make much sense of it.

I realize that this info may be old news to many of you and if someone

wants to reply to me off-list that is fine. My e-mail is

The plasma cysteine/sulphate test was done through GSDL.

cysteine- 2.62L (Range 3.10-3.90)

sulphate- 5.0 (Range 4.8-5.3)

Maybe I am just on information overload from reading so many of the

archives. :)

My son reacts very favorably to MSM supplementation-allergy symptoms

gone with no need for antihistamines.

He reacts very favorably to all sulfur boosting supplements EXCEPT NAC

and ALA. He eats lots of high sulfur foods and does not react

negatively to them at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much!

Thanks Andy.

The issue that is preventing further chelation is the fact that both

of my boys have motility problems now. They have had sitzmark studies

done and my older son after 5 days, still had half of the rings in his

colon. My younger son had about one quarter of the rings left.

Both had the in-patient colon clean-outs using Go-Lytely through an NG

tube. They had follow up x-rays one month later, both of their colons

were completely full of stool. Nothing works to keep their colons

moving. I am afraid to continue chelation with their stools sitting

around inside them for 5+ days.

Also, is there anything that needs to be done to bring up the cysteine

level (2.62L -range 3.1-3.9)?

Thanks again!
