sorry - i'm even confusing myself lately. i bought the 3 strain

probiotic to make the yogurt (bought the yogurt maker too) but held

off b/c of the goat cheese (i was going to use goat milk). i don't

really want to try it with nut yogurt b/c we can't use any nuts other

than cashew (phenol issue) and i feel like he's getting a good amount

of cashews right now - don't want to throw off the balance we've

achieved with baked cashew goods/fruits & veggies/meats/supplements.

so i wanted to go the acidophilus way by itself - small amounts at a

time - wnated to know if anyone has done that, results, etc. i know

everyone is very pro-yogurt but at this point i'd like to try the

acidophilus to see if it helps without having to " add " more

ingredients to his diet - if you know what i'm saying.

thanks for the help.

very interesting on the latex issue - i thought it only had to do

with latex products - not foods too. what next???

yogurt starter as a probiotic supplement? That won't work..... 2 of

the three strains in the starter are only for fermentation. They do

not take up residence in the gut.

only probiotic Elaine recommends is acidophilus.

" i don't really want to try it with nut yogurt b/c we can't use any

Pecans and hazelnuts are listed as low in salicylates. Have you

tried either of those?

Not trying to twist your arm, just offering ideas to possibly

broaden his choices.

What about No Fenol?

Yes, you can use just the acidophilus supplement..... as long as it's just

acidophilus alone...... not the starter. You don't HAVE to do yogurt. Many

SCD-ers here don't do yogurt of any kind...... even nut...... at first. Quite a

few do choose to go ahead and introduce it later to take advantage of it's

healing properties. That's completely up to you. I think the acidophilus is best

taken on an empty stomach.
