Guest guest
We have just finished round 12 of chelation as per the Andy Cutler protocol and are definitely seeing real and sustained improvements. We are still chelating regularly and are currently using DMSA and ALA together (DMSA 6.25mg/ ALA 12.5mg for a 60lb boy). We find this combination seems to present fewer side-effects than using either of these chelators on their own. In November last year we finally overcame Callum's hyperactivity problems. At last he would sit still for meals and stay seated during his ABA sessions. But this only lasted until just before Xmas when he came down with a yeast infection. We have now beaten the yeast problem but the hyperactivity is persisting. We are wondering if chelation has caused the continuation of hyperactivity. Could the hyperactivity be due to reduced zinc or chromium, or perhaps other oxidative effects of the DMSA? Or could it be due to the ALA increasing copper retention? Or could it be a combination of increased copper and reduced zinc and/or chromium? If so, would be wise to increase zinc, chromium and molybdenum supplementation in the short term? Or are there are other likely reasons for the hyperactivity? Has anyone had any success suing specific supps to treat this problem? Thanks. Guest guest
you could try increasing some of the minerals and see, but here after 30+ rounds, hyperactivity still means yeast. Now that I know what signs to watch for in my son I see it coming during/after each round. > We have just finished round 12 of chelation as per the Andy Cutler > protocol and are definitely seeing real and sustained improvements. > > We are still chelating regularly and are currently using DMSA and ALA > together (DMSA 6.25mg/ ALA 12.5mg for a 60lb boy). If you are sure it is no longer yeast, and you have not added any new supplements, then I would consider the copper issue. Copper did make my kids hyper. Conversely, it might be that he no longer needs high doses of some of the supplements you are currently using. This happened with my son. Good luck. Guest guest
Hi Steve, Dr. Hardy stated at one time that a folic acid deficiency could cause hyperactivity. He recommended folate by ultrametagenicsto my friends son. R
