Guest guest Posted July 12, 2002 Report Share Posted July 12, 2002 One of the things that happens with this disease as it progresses, if it's not treated you can no longer eat. For some, it becomes tiresome to chew and to swallow and pretty soon you don't feel the need to eat. For others, the food is aspirated into the lungs due to the weak esophagus and pneumonia sets in.
