First let me start out with yesterdays events. The day was HOT, to say

the least, so by 8pm I fed my horses... my dogs went down with me. By

8:30pm I was back up top and gave dog biscuits to all three dogs (the

traveling salesman dog came over) by 9pm I was preparing my dogs their

dinner. At 9:15 pm went out and my one dog was gone...Pooh. I called

and called her... so I waited thinking she had to take a private trip

for personal time. I waited and called, waited and called and called.

NO DANG DOG... pitch black out so I couldn't see my own hand in front of

my face. I decided to go to bed because I wanted to be fresh for my

testing today. Well, that's just not me. I'm a mother hen no two

ways about it. I slept from 10pm to 11pm and got up, went outside and

called her... then went looking for her. At 1am I went back to bed

thinking she'll come home... HECK NO! So, at 3am I'm up again looking

outside and I even went down to the barn, nope not there either. Next,

Addy (my other dog) and I walked out to the main road to look for her,

nope not there either. Went back inside and laid down ... it's

4am...back up at 5am.... went down and fed my girls, called my dog... By

6am I'm really worried now so I got into my truck and went looking for

her. I drove down the road a mile and a half.... there she was laying

in the middle of the road. I thought she was dead. I stopped my

truck, got out and she popped her head up...but she didn't know who I

was at all. I felt so bad for her but I got her up and had to lift her

into my truck. She was and still is so matted due to her little trip.

I had to cut away almost all her hair on one side....she won't let me

touch her other side but she will tomorrow....she just doesn't know it.

She's still pretty much out of it even tonight.... has trouble walking.

By dinner time tonight she seemed to realize that she was home. Takes

a while for her to come around. She's going to have one big one soon

and that will be it.

Ok, now it's around 7:30 in the morning and I have to get ready and

leave by 9:30am and I don't move fast.... I get to the clinic and take

my PFT's (Pulmonary Function Tests)

I only had to take one test....Airflow... My first try was 80, the

second was 55 and the third was 33..... for an average of 56. That was

pretty good since my last test was 32....... YEA!

We talked about the Prednisone and she wants to see if it's the Enbrel

or Prednisone that's keeping my lungs the same. So, I'll drop by 1mg

starting tomorrow when I go to WallyMart to pick up my Pred and if all

goes well I'll drop 1mg every month. If it's doesn't go well, I'm to

go back up. She's not the least bit concerned of me taking the Pred

because of the low dose.... but, she said if I could get off that would

be great. We might have to adjust the Hydrocort once I'm completely off

the Pred. That's fine with me.

We looked over the chest x-rays... they're the same... no change at all.

Another YEA! She wants me to wait 3 months and lose more weight (I

weighed in at 22 lbs lighter... she was so thrilled) and keep up my

exercising and see if I can get my scores up even higher. I know I

could have done better but I was really exhausted and I just wanted to

sleep. With each try on the test, I could feel my upper lungs start to

burn and shut down... so we stopped.... the score was better and that's

what I wanted. I have to remember while I'm laying in bed to breathe

in deep to expand my lungs and muscles...something I forget to do.

Ok, there you have it... the saga of Pooh and my airflow test. Boy,

what a night and day.... Well, I've got to check on my dog... is a

mothers work ever done?

Take care,

Vicki

Yahoo!!! Good numbers, eh? That's nice!

Now, when you say " keep your lungs the same " is that

good or bad?? Well, getting off Pred is only good (to

my way of thinking!)

And 22 lbs. lighter! All right...you go, Girl!!!!

Mighty proud of ya! So all in all, sounds like a

pretty good visit.

So sorry about Pooh. Well, wash her up, make her

comfortable and give her lots of love. I know how

frantic you must have felt when you couldn't find her.

And you are right, mother's work is never done....I

mean, look at what ya gotta go through with Zanna and

Dawn! Geez, Vicki, you deserve a medal!! (I'm

laughing and ducking at the same time!)

And how are the girls this morning? Looking forward

to a picture of them (and how about one of you, too??

Update us!)

How's the goofy neighbor kid been? Keeping quiet and

out of your hair?

Well, Vicki, I'm pleased at your appointment! Take it

easy today, if you can!

Hugs,

Lynn

Hope Pooh is doing great, Mothers work is never done. And that doesn't even matter if it's our pets. Cause they always seem to know mom. Glad your test went well, keep it up. Great news on the weight loss.YEA. Get alot of rest, take care.
