, just wanted to say that I really appreciate your posts. I

notice they don't get many replies but I think that is because most

of us are just sitting here staring at the computer thinking " wow " !

And " thank you " ! Keep the info coming! :-)

I second this! I keep forwarding them to my SIL who's in her third

year of med school and poo poos the vaccine/immune connection to

autism when her teachers have taught two seconds on autism with

the " it's genetic, there's no scientific evidence of that garbage

the parents give " stuff.

My rant for the end of the year.

My #2 son has a Kanner dx [from 2 separate doctors], meaning he did not regress,

he is " one of the rare entirely-genetic cases " . He

was basically Rainman without the amazing memory.

My #4 received a dollhouse from Grandpa for Christmas. When we set it up here,

#2 went right over to it and did NOT line up the

people figures like he would have a few years ago. He sat the people at the

tables and said " man eat " [he is still at phrases only, for

the most part], he put them in the beds and said " man sleep " . He had so much

fun that #4 had trouble getting him to let HER play

with it. So I went out and bought another one, this one is a hotel. #2 put the

people in the pool and said " water, slide, weeeeee " . He

puts them in the elevator and says " man go up, go down " , they " see TV " , they

" sit on couch " . They " sit on chair, eat on table " . They

even call out to each other " hey man, come here, sit on couch, see TV " .

Noone can tell me this is the result of therapy because 1) my son is

homeschooled and I do about 2 hours of DTT/AVB with him per

day [less at this time of year] which is nowhere near the amount recommended,

and 2) until this point, we did not have a dollhouse

here, nor has he ever seen one anywhere else.

I can't wait until I can have his dx removed.

Dana,

Congratulations with your son " playing " with the dollhouse and

people. I got teary eyed reading that.

It gives me hope that one day I will walk into my son's room and see

him playing with his hotwheel cars and tracks, not just see them all

lined up.

What a great Christmas present.
