Hi Zanna....

I hear you about the raise in the SS. Mine was also raised, then my

supplemental health insurance raised there monthly fee by $5.00 and

raised the co-pay from $10.00 to $15.00. They also raised generic

drugs from $5.00 to $8.00 and they dropped all brand name drugs.. So,

you can say I didn't get a cost of living raise... not like they did

since they don't have to worry about there insurance plan. Who wins?

They do!

Here in Calif. they past a bill a few years ago that allows anyone

holding a medicare card to receive there drugs at the same discount they

give to Medi-caid people. I couldn't find not one pharmacy that would

honor that. So I called the agency handling the medi-caid issues and

asked how I would go about receiving my drugs under this law since I was

on medicare ..... Are you ready for this ... the guy on the other end

LAUGHED and said " GOOD LUCK " in finding anyone that will honor it. My

question is.... THEN WHY HAVE THE BILL ON THE BOOKS? As usual, it

sounds and looks really good on paper and our fabulous politicians can

say " We started a program for all our Calif. citizens to have low cost

drugs " .... which would be right, except for the fact no one wants to

honor it!

I agree, I don't think we will see discounts extended to us. I have my

prescriptions for my inhalers which my insurance company won't pay

for... I intend to sign up for the Canada pharmacy and get my drugs

across the border rather than paying for them here.

Did anyone see 48 Hours last night on the selling of body parts??????
