The Dr. sent me for one more MRI, he wants to know the exact size, and then

he plans on going in and removing it and recovering the area with a mesh so

the fluid will not pool there again.

Throwing up is something to tell the doctor. He may need to do an MRI to

check your ventricle size and fluid accumulation in the head. For me the

beginning of throwing up were signs of hydrocephalus. You should get this

checked out. I hope it's nothing.

Hi,

okay, so personally, I experience constant nausea, but rarely vomiting, but

my cousin, who also has chiari, was in the hospital all summer last year for

persistent vomiting. She couldn't keep anything down for over a month. She

got thinner and thinner until hope was almost gone. They tested her for

everything under the sun, until finally, an mri showed two things: one was a

chiari malformation, but only 3 mm, and this has been determined to be

asymptomatic. The other was a tear in her thecal sac. After this diagnosis,

she was sent to a chiropractor. After her first adjustment, she was able to

keep food down, and she still goes about once a month. She has returned

almost to a normal weight now, and experiences virtually no vomiting and

little nausea. I don't know that this story will help you at all, but I know

how horrible this was for her, and I hope they can figure something out to

help you. Best wishes!

For all you folks with the throw-up problems: I know exactly how it feels

to have projectile vomiting! The gagging and dry heaving after it is like

hell! I hope you get to the bottom of the problem and get rid of the

illness like I did. Since my operation, I haven't had any trouble except a

little acid indigestion.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>It is not just you!!! A couple weeks ago I threw up

all over my pillow. Thank goodness it was just my pillow and it had a heavy

pillow cover plus a pillow case on it. I was also just sitting in my

recliner the other day when the nausea hit. I don't always throw up, so

thought I best go get my trusty pan for just in case. I never made it out

of the chair. It was explosive and then I gagged with what I've always

called the dry heaves. Such fun. My doctor said that this nausea is caused

from the constipation and celiac sprue. Then there's the nausea from Lupus.

But - even though this is what is going on with me sure doesn't mean it is

the same for you. There's all sorts of things it could be, including

ulcers. Need to see the doctor!! Hugs - a B
