Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I'm new here. I was diagnosed with a septate uterus back in January and had surgery scheduled for May 14th but due to a shortage of nurses in the OR it was cancelled and I found out yesterday it is rescheduled for June 25th. I was happy it wasn't much longer of a wait. I am also having a lap at the same time to make sure there are no other problems. My question is what is the recovery time for all this surgery? My DH and I have rented a cottage with BIL and SIL for a week starting the day after surgery. I've told DH that I don't think I can go the day after but hopefully will feel well enough to go 2 days later. It might be good to be on vacation so I can rest and relax, just feel bad I won't be of much help to SIL in the cooking and cleaning department! Also DH won't be able to be with me during the surgery, it just happens that it falls when it's the busiest time of his project at work My Mom can be with me though, but DH feels awful and wants me to change the date. It's not that easy, surgery time is very limited at my hospital, it's not like changing a doc appointment. Sorry I've been so long winded, any advice on recovery time would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much, I look forward to learning lots from all you ladies!! --------------------------------- Post your free ad now! Yahoo! Guest guest
Kirsten, I would ask your doctor about when you can go, but my experience was such a breeze. The day of the surgery was a little tough because of the gas. I highly suggest buying gas ex for that day. I had no other pain and never needed any pain medication. I am not saying you won't be sore, but I am sure if it's ok your with doctor and you are up to it you could leave the next day. Loose pants will be much needed but otherwise it's not that bad. I think you'll have to see how you feel the next day. Good Luck, Joann > Hi Ladies, > I'm new here. General anesthesia did not make me sick and the worst pain I had was a sore tummy (as if I had done sit-ups) and some cramping. Bleeding was light. Definitely day three following surgery, if you are like everyone else, you will be up to enjoying yourself and helping SIL in the kitchen. The only thing that would not be a part of your vacation would be doing the wild thang with your DH. But who wants to do that when BIL and SIL are sharing the cottage anyhow ;-) Good luck with all! Guest guest
Hi - I think that everyone is different and perhaps recovery time is related to the size of your septum. Personally, I didn't feel all that bad. I did get sick (nauseated) after the anesthetic, and I did have bad gas pains for like 2 days. On the 3rd day, that was pretty much gone. My belly button was slightly sore, but nothing major. I had light spotting for 5 days (very minimal) and some cramping because an IUD was inserted to prevent scarring. I was really tired...that was the most significant result of the surgery. I think if you're careful and resting as much as you need, you should be fine. Sitting upright is probably the most comfortable b/c of the gas (it shoots up into your shoulders when you lie down). Hope this helps, Grazia > Hi Ladies, > I'm new here. Guest guest
, The surgery is a breeze. I had just the hyst for a septum and it was out patient. I slept the whole day of surgery after I came home and actully felt very rested the next day. There was very little pain nothing that advil can't cure. I had some light bleeding for 5 days or so and that was that. I would think as long as you are packed and not driving you should be able to go and have fun. Just don't expect to swim because you have to use pads not tampons. - Liz Liz > >Reply-To: MullerianAnomalies >To: MullerianAnomalies >Subject: Septate Uterus Resection Recovery Time >Date: Thu, 22 Apr 2004 09:04:53 -0400 (EDT) > _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected?
