God why would anyone do that to a child shake them until they were brain damaged? I admire you so much for being Mom to her, she needs you so desperately. You are a remarkable woman. Take care of yourself, Love Ardie Ardie, actually it's not from that. She severed her spine so because she is a quadrapeligic, she has no control over those functions. She is pretty smart, the DR's haven't figured out how that woman could inflict that much damage and Bridget still be able to even speak and hold her head up and eat and stuff.
