Guest guest Posted September 26, 2002 Report Share Posted September 26, 2002 I emailed Dr. Copperman to ask about doctors in the UK. Unfortunately, he does not know any. I know he will keep his ears open now! I know he travels in the same circles as many of the A list doctors in the US. (I think many of them went to Yale) Perhaps we can all continue to ask around. There are so many UK members that need to leave their country for treatment. I wish we all had doctors in our back yard. I know I have not posted in a while (except to some of the new members). For those of you who do not know me, I had/have a severe case of Asherman's. I had AS due to a d and c from a mc. I had surgery with an OB, who did more harm than good. I also saw another RE. I just had surgery in July from an A list RE (Dr. Copperman). The surgery was said to be a success. I got my first period in almost a year in August. Unfortunately, my second period is very late, and I do not think I am preganant. I am on cycle day 43, and no second period. I emailed Dr. Copperman today, and he said if there are no menses by Monday he wants to see me. He will do an U/S, and a full blood work up. Anyone have irregular cycles after surgery, without provera??? If so, how many days? Regarding the insurance companies....I was lucky my doctor took my insurance. Many out of office tests I did were not covered. My insurance company gave me a hard time. Perhaps this would make a good news story? I can not believe all of these members that are not being covered for proper care! This is horrible, mean, and crazy! They should be held liable for any further damage! Are all of these insurance companies HMOs? Do these people companies want to pay for one good surgery, or three bad ones? Ugh! Good luck to everyone just beginning their journey. ( I see Dr. Copperman in NYC-A list) I am trying to find a doctor in the UK for the woman in the group that are now travelling to Germany. We have many UK members. Please ask your doctor if he knows anyone. Can you imagine leaving the country to see a doctor? It must make it even more difficult than it already is! Regarding insurance..can the treating REs help a little? Perhaps the insurance company would take them more seriously? I remember my insurance company giving me an attitude about an HSG. These people are so stupid! Aetna health plans was one of the first health care companies in the US to go no refferal required! Why? When they did a study, they found that 95% of the patients were given approval anyway! Can you imagine the costs they cut by letting go an entire department of pre cert people? You do not need a Harvard MBA to figure that one out! Ugh. Do not get me started! Well, good luk to you.
