Guest guest
Can anyone comment on this for me? Can we try Valtrex on a 56 pound 9 year old girl? Are there better drugs for children? Yes, my four year old son is on the Valtrex. Can the Herpes virus cause developmental delays? Behavioral problems? Physical or genetic problems? Yes, it can. I called and requested a packet from Dr. Kendall in Austin, Texas. Does this doctor deal with this issue? Yes he does, he has treated several thousand cases now dealing with autistic children. How do you test for Herpes in a child? You cannot, since the virus lives in the nerves. Are there people who believe that the Autistic Spectrum is related to Herpes? Binstock??? You can put in a search on google and get information that way. People also think Herpes family of viruses may play a role in Alzhiemers, and MS. Finally, has anyone had good results by treating for Herpes in their child? I have talked to two other parents that have seen definite improvements in their child doing the anti viral therapy. Thanks, in Salt Lake City

I do believe that if it is in the mother, then it can be passed to the child.

Also, if a child's system is so overwhelmed that it cannot properly fight off the virus, then titers do not show high until several months into anti-viral treatment when the body can then begin to effectively fight off the disease and thus show the antibodies (titers). > Are there people who believe that the Autistic Spectrum is related to > Herpes? > Binstock??? > Dr. Goldberg is convinced that most cases of autism are results of dysregulated immune systems caused by viral problems. I'm not sure that I'd go that far but there certainly seems to be much evidence for the dysregulated immune system theory. Personally, I think many cases tend to be dysregulated systems that get worse with various toxins, viruses, bacteria, yeast, etc etc. > Finally, has anyone had good results by treating for Herpes in their child? > My son has made enormous progress over the past 9 months on antiviral therapy. He started with Valtrex with some minor improvement and switched to Famvir with big improvement in motor skills, auditory processing, focus, conceptual thinking and higher order skills, etc. His HHV6 test showed only slightly elevated so we're not sure if we're just treating that or some other form of herpes or another virus that isn't testable yet. It has been such a dramatic change though that we know we're hitting something. Gaylen
Guest guest
If the mother had an outbreak at the time of the delivery, then the hospital OUGHT to have a done a C-section right away. There would be absolutely no question of that. As far as I am aware, you would have seen physical symptoms of herpes in the newborn. If there were no symptoms present it is extremely unlikely that the baby contracted the virus. This herpes virus will often kill a newborn and can also blind a newborn (from getting lesions in the eye). It is very serious and not likely to have been missed. You would probably do well to contact a doctor who knows specifically about genital herpes and ask him/her about the chances of your child having it if you saw no physical signs of it after birth. marti
Guest guest
Hello (and others interested in viral issues), > The more I read about the Herpes > virus and pregnancy, the more I wonder if my daughter has the virus from her > birth mother. > > Can anyone comment on this for me? > > Can we try Valtrex on a 56 pound 9 year old girl? Are there better drugs for > children? Okay, I'm going to go off sideways here, once again, and say that ozone (a contorversial, HIGHLY alternative form of health care) is considered to be a good anti-viral. I don't feel up to a short essay about it (try searching on the word " ozone " in the message archive if you want to read a few of my short essays). So, the short of it is that ozone is good for viruses. I recently (while searching for something else!) read a post about the protocol to use for herpes, in particular. I can't find it now (I probably just don't have the patience--- I'm really tired, sorry.) Anyway, it was written by Saul Pressman, who knows a lot about ozone (and sells ozone equipment also). He said that the herpes " hides " in the spine even after most of it is gone, so you have to treat right over the base of the spine to get the last of it. I think that is what he said. You can join this list (below) and search on " herpes " -- and here is one post to start with -- it is some research and so on about ozone and herpes. You have to join the list to be able to read it, though: ozonetherapy/message/643 good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
I called Goldberg's office a couple of months ago and they said they were not taking new patients. Guest guest
Don't consider this a great loss - we were his patients for almost two years and the only thing that came out of it is a lot of $$$ and condescending lectures. Just a quick question before I get to your essays. Are you saying that ozone can actually remove the virus from the body?

Are you saying that ozone > can actually remove the virus from the body? Well, yes and no. The yes is that, in theory, I think ozone is anti-viral in a general way-- any virus. HOWEVER, I don't have a lot of practical knowledge of how this applies for people with various viral issues. I have LITTLE BITS of information, but not volumes. For example, a " little bit " : there is someone on another list I'm on who has lymes disease and is having great improvements using ozone. (There is also another person with lymes disease having great improvements with HBOT.) Ozone is used by several large cities to purify their water supply. It has eliminated the HIV virus, outside the body, in tests. So, one issue is that I don't personally know enough about if there may be instances where it doesn't work so well in the body. The example I gave about herpes is a relevant one--- it " hides " in the spine, so unless you treat it just the right way, you can get relief without really getting RID of it. There may be lots of issues like this. FWIW I just ordered a book written by a German MD called something like " the medical uses of ozone " . It is supposed to take 6 to 8 weeks to get it. Maybe I'll get smarter eventually Saul on the ozonetherapy list has a LOT of experience with practical situations and treatment with ozone. He sells ozone machines, and seems to have a pretty large database in his head of cases of people he has worked with, knows personally, or who he has sold equipment to. It is hard to replace 1st hand experience. good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Thanks, Moria! I will check into the information you gave me. My son has been on Pentasa for the viral inflammation in his gut. Dr. Wakefield told me that that's a good medicine, but he did not know of a way to get rid of the virus as yet. He told me to keep my son on a maintenance dose of Pentasa. He said they were working on a permanent cure. That was last year summer. I will really like to have a better answer than the permanent use of Pentasa. Thanks very much for sharing the information on ozone. It looks very promising to me. moriamerri wrote: > > > > So, the short of it is that ozone is good for viruses. > > > Anyway, it was written by Saul Pressman, who knows a lot about ozone > > > (and sells ozone equipment also).
