PS...even patients that have been hospitalized for the 48 hours or longer usually go home with drainage tubes in the case of mastectomies. But the Docs usually know to send in the home health nurses in that case. We used to see alot of these patients.

I believe that the legislation that actually passed required only an overnight stay, and a bill has been introduced to make this change to a minimum of 48 hours, paid for by the insurance company. I'll go find the specifics and forward them. I do know that this is not the same bill
