Guest guest
Hi guys i'm hoping that you may be able to help me answer some questions. We have done 4 rounds of chelation (DMSA) with my daughter so far. She's 9 years old. When she was about 6 weeks old she started having apnea spells. Her holter monitor showed bradycardia and tachycardia events at that time. The cardiologist told me that she felt she had pallid breath holding spells and would eventually outgrow it. It seemed that she had...until last night. She was lying in the floor very much into a movie, and rolled over suddenly grabbing her chest. She said " my heart hurts and is beeping slow and it's hard to breathe " . She was VERY pale. Then her face got really really red and she was sweating. Her pulse was irregular also. After a couple of minutes she was fine. Her description of this event was this: " my heart was beeping to slow and it was hard to breathe then it started beeping really really fast like when i run...and it hurt " . I asked her if this was the first time she had felt like that and she told me no that it had happened the night before but it didn't hurt as bad and she didn't get hot. My questions are these: Do you think that doing the chelation and stirring up all the metals this has affected her heart in some way? Should I be more aggressive with the chelation or just take a break? It has been 19 days since her last round due to the holidays. I took her to the ped. today who is great and asked her these questions and she just didn't know. She told me that she does know that mercury could affect the heart. My thinking on it is this. She started having these episodes with her heart at the same time of the mercury laden vaccines. After she was 4 there were no noticeable signs of heart trouble. Maybe the mercury was settled into the hiding spots and the DMSA being stirred up is once again affecting the heart. Does this make sense or am I way off on my thinking here? Any advice or experience in this would be so greatly appreciated. She goes tomorrow to get the holter monitor put on again for 24 hrs. Thank you so much, this is just really worrying me! Guest guest
, I don't know the exact relationship between mercury and heart problems but I do remember reading something about it... perhaps others can fill in the details for you. I just wanted to say that I have an efriend whose son was having fast and hard heartbeats during chelation rounds. His mom accidentally gave him more taurine than she usually did and that really helped. (It was not a lot of taurine--just a whole capsule instead of a part of a capsule). Also, giving a lot of magnesium was something that was told to her to do to help this heartbeat issue he was having. At the time that he was having these heartbeat problems, I don't think she was giving him any magnesium. Guest guest
Thanks for your resonse. I give Anli' Ionic Magnesium X/S. She takes 100 drops (1 1/2 tsp.) per. day. I have never given her taurine though, and will ask her Dr. helping with the chelation about this. I was able to get her in to see him tomorrow so i'm hoping he'll have some answers. I just think it's really strange that this just shows up now after so many years and especially when we're really starting to stir things up. Guest guest
, What dose and schedule do you use? How much does your daughter weigh? Might consider decreasing the dose. Guest guest
She weighs 70lbs. We give 25 mg. every 4 hours for 3 days taking 11 days off. It's been a longer break for her this time though. Does 25 mg. seem like to much to be giving her? She is doing really really well considering. Her behavior is soooooo much better, school is better, we are amazed at the progress she's made. Sam > > > Hi guys i'm hoping that you may be able to help me answer some<BR> > questions. I hesitate to comment here, because I have NO OPINION on whether this is a factor in your daughter's specific case. However, mercury can cause heart problems, I think including tachycardia. I would have to look around to see if I could find any references to heart problems and mercury. I just looked up " heart " in the index of Andy's book (because I have it right here), and there are maybe a dozen references, including some specifically for tacyacadia. Here is a brief quote from page 128: " If you are very poisoned, you may have extreme problems with how your brain controls your body. " ... " This causes you to have cold, sweaty hands and feet, a fast heartbeat (tachycardia) alternating with a slow one (bradycradia)..... " > Should I be more aggressive with the chelation or just take a break? What dose are you using? You might try a lower amount. I would try to aim for SLOW and steady chelation. My thinking is that you have to get this junk out to actually help with underlying problem(s), but with less disruption being better. Sort of at cross-purposes. (that is, we want to detox, but not too much at once LOL.) > It has been 19 days since her last round due to the holidays. > I took her to the ped. today who is great and asked her these > questions and she just didn't know. Makes total sense to me. It is EXPECTED that chelation will cause some " mercury effects " . Chelation DOES involve having a higher blood level of mercury (circulating around) than not chelating. That is sort of " the point " of chelating.... > Any advice or experience in this would be so greatly appreciated. She > goes tomorrow to get the holter monitor put on again for 24 hrs. > Thank you so much, this is just really worrying me! I have lived with someone (for about 10 years) who had periodic episodes of tachycardia, so I know how very scary this can be (altough your daughter's episodes sound less severe than this was). If you would like me to describe how to use a bowl of ice water to lower heart rate, I can do that. (Not complex, just have ice water and submerge your face into it for a while. Hold breath.) This is uncomfortable but it works. (I guess that is all there is to describe.) Very cold! good wishes, Moria

The dose to use is based on that you want to use ENOUGH to be effective but still not have really difficult symptoms and side effects. We don't know if her heart symptoms are from chelation, but personally I would take the conservative approach and lower the dose down toward the lower end of the range. 1/8 mg per pound would be the low end (9 mg per dose in her case). 1/4 mg per pound (middle of range) is 18 mg per dose. You could try using 10 or 15 or 20. If you lower the dose you'll get a bit less mercury out in each round. good wishes, Moria
