Guest guest
, I believe you misunderstood what I wroteor it didn't explain myself properly. I had the D & C AFTER I was diagnosed with AS. My doctor diagnosed me based on a sonohyst and results of biopsies as well I beleive. (i think the material in the biopsy was not regular tissue and combined with the sono hyst results they determined it was scar tissue). At the time, 1984 they did perform a diagnostic hyst and confirmed scarring but removed it by doing a D & C. Either operative hysts were not being done at that time or this was just the option my doctor went for at the time. My periods returned after the D & C and continued for many years but as time went by got lighter and lighter. I also went on the pill about 6 months after the D & C and remained on them for over 15 years never taking a break from them. As far as I know I was never pregnant, but believe I may have been and not known it and miscarried. At the time I had very heavy periods that lasted weeks and sometimes had clotting. This one incident was much worse. I bleed worse than before and I passed several large clots, and I passed out. I just assumed it was a very heavy period. If I was lucky I went 1 to 2 weeks inbetween periods at that time. The fact that I bleed so haevy at such a young age and for so long could be trauma enough to the uterus. It wasn't until a few years later after I was diagnosed with AS and my doctor and I were reveiwing my case that we came to a possible conclusion that I may have had a miscarriage. I agree that a pregnancy itself would not cause AS, but since I never saw a doctor about it, there still may have been retained material and possible infection. It was after this occurred that my periods started to get lighter and eventually stopped. As I said I was on the pill. I stopped taking the pill towards the end of 1998 when I got married. I was having no periods at this point. I strted my current journey than. I went for a sono hyst and the were unable to get the cathedar in. My cervix was scarred over. In August 2000, my doc attempted a operative hyst but when he went in he must have pushed too hard to get past the scarring in the cervix and perferated the uterus. On his advise I sought out an expert. I found a name of a doctor who was than on the A list here. Last summer 2001 I had a HSG and a diagnostice hyst. Through these procedures the scarring at my cervix was broke up. My uterus was scar free. I than started to see my current RE's about 6 months after these procedures. When they did my first trans vaginal ultrasound they found a amll patch in my uterus. They weren't sure if it was scarring or a uterine polyp. I had a operative hyst in January 2002 and they removed a small patch of scarring. My utrus was now scar free and my cervix was open and I was getting periods, Basically spotting that lasts a day but more than I had for years. In March of this year I started my first IVF cycle. MY first and second cycles were cancelled due to a cyst in the first and poor response in the second. I am currently in the middle of my third cycle. I went to the doc on Friday after four days/shots of perganol and they did not see any follicles though my doc said it was still ealry. This is what happened last cycle. I go back on Monday and if there is no response we will stop and discussa different protocol for my next cycle/ Sorry this was so long, but I hope I explained myself better. Thanks for listening.
