I drink the Designer Whey protein shakes in chocolate flavor. I like them.

You can also blend a 1/3 of a banana in once or twice a week for added flavor.

Hope this helps. I am two months post op and I still drink one every morning

for breakfast.

i too hated protein drinks right after my surgery (open RNY 3/5/04)

i couldn't get it down at all... it literally made me ill. but i

got some WHEY TECH last week at The Vitamin Store (they also have an

online store) - it's their own brand... i got the vanilla and i've

had it every morning. i love it because it's not too sweet and has

NO SUGAR and best of all it's 17 grams of protein per scoop and it

goes up to 25 grams of protein when you mix it with a cup of nonfat

milk. you don't have to put it in the blender - it actually mixes

with a spoon... but i've been putting it in a shaker cup with the

milk and then i shake it up and add some ice cubes. i take it to

work and drink it all morning. you can mix it with water also...

it's good both ways... i prefer it with the nonfat milk and then i

also add a little water (i really don't like sweet stuff since my

surgery).

this stuff has really saved my life. i'm going back to The Vitamin

Store tomorrow and get some more... i might even try another flavor.

Yonnie could you give me the name of the drinks that you are talking about? I

can not find pure protien on the web. But 34mg sounds like the best as far as I

can tell. I have not had surgery yet but would like to get started on some form

of Protien Drinks.

Thank you

PROPLETE GOLD - by Labrada!!! Vanilla pinapple is soooo good and

has tiny bits of real pinapple in it - only 1 or 2 grams of sugar

per serving - sweetened with splenda (i think).

this is a protein powder - i mix it with a bit of nonfat milk, lots

of water, and a ton of ice. i drink it every morning and LOVE IT.

and i HATED protein drinks when i got home from my surgery - i had

stocked up on pre-mixed canned drinks - YUCK!

you can order a bunch of different samples from VITALADY.COM and

pick out what protein powder you like best.

Hi-

I know of a great protein shake that comes in either Vanilla or

Chocolate. It is soy based protein and has 13g. There is some

sugar in it though. But it also has a ton of other great vitamins

and minerals that helps overall. I drink mine with soy milk to add

more protein to it. I'm also lactose, so I sort of have to do the

soy thing. Anyway, if you are interested, let me know.
