Guest guest
I once asked a policeman I know to run a snap of me through their forensic photography softwear--you know, the one that will show how a person would have looked when s/he was younger, or probably would look when s/he is older, or will change someones hairstyle, etc. I asked him to find out what I would look like at my ideal weight. I looked like I had just come out of a concentration camp. According to the hight/weight tables, Tom Cruise, Russel Crowe, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwartzenegger all are 'obese.' Re:how much weight to lose I found the " suggested " weights are often skewed by whatever fad is in charge at the time. Back when it was supposedly better to be super thin, the docs were quoting me a lot slimmer weight of 135. There is NO WAY I'm comfortable at that weight with my frame. I'm roughly built like a highschool quarterback with wide back and shoulders. When I was that light, I felt weak and ill. So I basically blew off the doc's admonition that I needed to be that weight and put back on 35 lbs. At 160, I felt MUCH better. So, the real goal should be find a weight you feel really healthy at (as opposed to one you're happy with) ;-). Aazari The Art of Jolie E. Guest guest
I have gained weight the past couple of months because I haven't been able to exercise much due to my injured leg. However, as soon as I can I'm going to start riding my bicycle and rollerblading again. Re:how much weight to lose <<At 160, I felt MUCH better. For me a good weight was between 175 and 200 despite me being a short person at only 5'4 " . Docs are pushing me to hit 150... Ain' no way. I would look and feel icky at that weight. ------------ Eternal Writer/Poet/Child of the Universe http://users4.ev1.net/~eternalwytch1/ ICQ: 55902650 " When a writer talks about his work, he's talking about a love affair. Guest guest
Your should check with your DR. first. Anytime you injure your legs and are off of them for more than one week, you stand a chance on injuring it more or again. You Dr. should send you to therapy for this injury. Need to take it easy until your DR. or phtht tells you that it is OK for you to start riding bikes . DO NOT do this on your own. Ben there done that. THANK YOU O'MIGHTY ONE FOR YOU INPUT , BUT YOUR WRONG! Guest guest
I am going to PT three times/week and am bugging the PT and PTA to let me get out of the boot and onto the bike ASAP. But I won't until they clear me. Re: Re:how much weight to lose Your should check with your DR. first. Guest guest
Mine didn't rupture completely, but if I had kept walking on it, that might have happened. At first I thought that I had sprained my ankle, and the doctor treated it accordingly--but it wasn't getting any better. He sent me for an MRI of the foot & ankle and discovered the tear. Re: Re:how much weight to lose I've never dealt with a complete ligament or tendon rupture yet.
