I'm very energetic, loud and sassy. (that's how I describe me, others may use other words)About 3 years ago I was working for a boss who just made me want to commit murder!!! He was a very fluffy pie in the sky (closet gay) man who always talked about doing grandiose things and changing the world. I however am a doer! While he was thinking of what shade of purple he wanted the table clothes to be at the yearly convention I was making things happen. Needless to say it was very stressful for me. I was a smoker back then (gave it up in Sept. when I was preg.) I would smoke maybe 2-3 cigs per day, nothing heavy. Usually when I drank, drove and worked. (Never in combination)Anyhow, I was so stressed out that I began to have chest pains and my heart felt like it was doing flips in my chest. It really started to scare me. I went to my doc and he did an echo and a stress test and also sent me home with a little monitor. You could see the needle jump around when my heart would flip.I was really nervous but he told me that I had mitral valve prolapse. He told me that it is becoming very common with our generation as we tend to push ourselves to work hard and do it all. He explained to me by saying that because I was going 100 miles per hour and stressing myself out my heart had gotten used to that pace. When I would slow down, my heart would not catch up as fast and had to kind of down shift in order to calm down. I took his word.Soon after, I quit my job (without having another one to go to) and my heart has been fine since. I have had a few little episodes, but really only during my worst times in the past 6 months. So, Gwen I hope that yours will go away when you tell your boss to shove it!!Good Luck!DC
