Angie,

No question is ever stupid . I know my lining is on the thinner side due to

ultrasounds monitoring my cycles. On clomid it never got very thick even when

with progesterone in the second half. I am on the lower end of normal but since

I have been pg twice was told that it must be good enough to get pg. Estrogen

helps build the lining the first half of the cycle and the progesterone thickens

it in the second half. Boy, I have learned a lot in my endeavors.

Clomid is a drug that has a side effect of thinning the uterine lining. Since

many with a t already have issues with lining it is not a drug that usually is a

first line of defense. In my case, I have PCOS which is in control and I

ovulate on my own now. My lining the two cycles before I got pg was on the

lower end of normal but it was fine since my af was normal. When on clomid, my

af would last a day and that was when I knew something was wrong. However, that

was last summer before I started ovulating on my own and knew that I had a

t-shape.

As for my t-shape, I am on the borderline on whether I am DES or not. I was

conceived in August 1971 and born May of 1972 so Re can not say for sure either

way. My mom did take something to prevent m/c but is adament (she is a nurse)

that it was not this. I do have other issues consistent with DES exposure but

not bad enough for them to investigate further. I only learned I had a t in

NOv. No one picked it up with my ds on the u/s or with my C-section. It was

when we were going past 19 months of trying that RE said let's make sure there

is nothing else wrong that we found it.

I did carry my son to term (Actually he was almost 2 weeks late and 9 lbs and 7

ounces) so my t-shape handled well for most of my pg. My uterus was quite worn

out though by the time he was born. I will be a repeat c around 38 to 39 weeks

the next time so my uterus is not worn out.

I would be happy to answer any more questions

Re: Kathleen - questions on lining

Kathleen,

Thanks for the info. This may sound stupid, but how do you know about

your lining? Is this is relation to progesterone levels? I apologize

for being so uneducated - especially since I had 2 rounds of Clomid,

but it was never really explained to me. I just had bloodwork done on

day 21 and I think if I remember correctly, day 25 when I was on

Clomid.

It is good to hear that pg is still possible! Is your t-shape

related to DES? I am pretty sure mine is not & am curious how many

others have this condition due to genetics.

Thanks for the support! And good luck to you as well!

Kathleen,

Thank you so much for the info - that explains why I did not know

about the lining. My doctor never did ultrasounds! Actually, the

second round of Clomid I took, I had just finished when they decided

to do a Lap/Hyst. (I switched Dr.'s within the same practice between

Clomid cycles & the new one said he wanted to do the Lap/Hyst before

taking more Clomid) My RE said he was not going to put me on Clomid

again (after knowing the effects on the lining, I am now confident in

my RE!). I also have Stage II Endo, but my RE does not feel it is a

cause of infertility based on the locations - a lot near my spine &

some on my left ovary. My left tube also appears to be blocked.

It is very encouraging to hear that you delivered a healthy son with

little complications. Although I must say that it is scary seeing so

many t-shapes with miscarriages. I am so sorry for your recent loss -

I cannot even begin to imagine...

What other issues do you have consistent with DES?
