a,

I'd like to think cramps are caused by the shape of the uterus just so I'd know

what to blame them on. With a septum, isn't there usually more muscle tissue?

This would mean that there is more muscle there to be cramping, but this is

totally just my theory. Just doing a quick search on the internet many sources

say that after a woman has kids the cramps generally subside because the uterus

is stretched out (paraphrased of course). Along the same lines, when your

septum is removed it is more " roomy " . Also, if the septum is what is primarily

cramping, it makes sense that getting rid of it would get rid of the cramps. I

hope your doctor has some answers for you. Are you thinking to have the septum

removed? Maybe they won't come back after you have your baby?

As for me, I suspect that my cramps are because my uterus is so tiny. Like you,

I also had a laparoscopy over four years ago, the Dr. found minimal endo, and

the cramps still reign during my periods. The last episode I had was so bad

that I had to pull off the road to avoid having an accident. When I mentioned

to my Ob-gyn how horrible they have become, she just said, " Oh, good! That

means your ovulating. " Ovulation is good, but can I have it without the cramps,

please? Btw, drinking more water to reduce the pg cramps I'm currently having

has resulted in heartburn. Any suggestions for how to deal with this? I guess

this is what you would call " off-topic " , so if anyone wants to e-mail me

privately about this I would surely appreciate it!

Hi Mikell,

Good question. I hadn't planned on having my septum removed (if we

lose this baby, or want more children after this pregnancy, we will

adopt). HOWEVER, if there is a good chance that removing the septum

will end the torture ... I need to talk to my RE. I'm not sure he

believes that SUs can cause cramps, but I think I will at least have

that conversation with him.

Take care,
