Guest guest
hi I am I also have UHC and will be going for my psych eval and surg consult back to back on Monday 05/10. Hoping I get approved, sounds like UHC is one of the easier insurance companys would you agree? I will be using the Bridges Center at St Lukes Hospital in Phoenix, Az. I am praying that it will be approved and also that it all goes well!!! does anyone know what criteria UHC uses for approval?? I am still nervous about all of this but pretty determined. Today I went shopping with my daughters one of them turned 26 today, I was almost in tears with the little walking I did, my feet swell up like balloons and hurt like heck. 316 lbs and 5'6 " 54 Years old 5 children and 15 grandchildren. Dr says I have chronic high blood pressure and strong family hx of diabetes and stroke. Awaiting Insurance Approval Dora A co-worker whose BMI was 58 was denied the first time but approved the second. Being a co-worker, we have the same insurance (UHC) written for the same employer, etc. Another co-worker took two weeks. My pre-op BMI was only 37 and I was approved in 48 hrs. Guest guest
, I have UHC and was approved about 17 days after they received my paperwork. All they needed was a letter from my surgeon stating that it was necessary. He sent in my medical records showing all the weights I have been in the last 3 years or so. I don't think any of the medical history was really needed though. They were very nice to call and check status with too. : ) Best of luck getting your approval. Guest guest
thx ...I ran into a snag, my insurance uhc says my employer has an exclusion on the group policy and will not cover gastric bypass. I spoke to my supervisor at work and she took to management who took it to HR who is contacting UHC. soooo.. hopefully it looks like my employer is working with them to make an exception for me. my fingers are crossed and most of all I am praying. good for you...bet you are really happy that your surgery is over with!! best of luck to you too!!! no regrets right??
