Hi everyone, my name is Marc and I appreciate being approved as a

member. My mom was diagnosed with PSC in November of last year and

we know very little about it. She has been sick for the last two

weeks or so and is so yellow I told her she should be Marge Simpson

for Halloween. She had an appointment scheduled with a Dr.

Boyer at University Medical Center here in Tucson, but her refering

Dr. called and said that her insurance will only cover an initial

visit with him and not anything else. We hoped to get her into the

Mayo Clinic in sdale but again... insurance would not cover it.

Her refering Dr. does not have prior experience with this disease,

only textbook knowledge and it's frustrating. I would appreciate any

guiding information people may have regarding what to eat and not to

eat, any supplements or vitamins she should take, (she is taking milk

thistle along with Ursodiol, Cholestyramine, and Hydroxyzine however

the Hydroxyzine wasn't helping much with the itching and so this Dr.

prescribed 50mg dosage of Naltrexone and it really had a bad effect

on her, made her very groggy and made her pass out. After we read

the literature stating NOT to take if you have a serious liver

condition, we called the Dr. who then prescribed the Cholestyramine.)

This is just so new to us and we would really be grateful for any

insight. Thank you so much again and if anyone is able to, please

contact me at MAQ10970@... with any information. Wishing you all

peace, love and health. Marc Quihuis
