Guest guest
OK--guess it is my turn. A year ago my daughter (19yrs at the time)had her thyroid removed-- papillary with follicular variant and hashimoto's. She went thru all the I-131 and scan. This year her scan is clean--no thyroid tissue remaining. Cancer doc said she is cured--but will be followed with tests and scans for a few yrs. My Mom had to have a partial thyroidectomy last Oct. Hers all of a sudden got enlarged and the cells in her thyroid were changing--not deffinately cancer though. Now--I have nodules in the " mm " sizes on both sides of my thyroid. The endo is going to suppress my tsh level. How will that affect me? Will I feel OK or be hypo or hyper? Will that help prevent the nodules from growing? By now, I would think I knew all about thyroid problems!! ha ha Thanks for any and all input on this. I will be watching the board and learning more now. Thanks! Janet :-) P.S. My Great Aunt (on my Mom's side) had papillary cancer also.
