Guest guest Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I had an experience recently that embarrasses me even to mention, but hopefully in revealing my stupidity, it will just confirm further the extreme toxicity of cigarettes. I have been known, on the occassion to sometimes have a smoke. I am not a " smoker " , but I enjoy the odd one (say on a friday night with my cousin). I may have one or two. NOt good, as yes it does not make me feel too hot. Well, other than this, no smokes at all. However, on my birthday about 6 weeks ago, I had a smoke and got carried away. And instead of having one or two smokes and leaving it at that, I had to be a smoked the entire packet (in one day). Well, the reactions from this have been going on now for nearly 6 whole weeks. I have been extremely sick and really hate to even tell anybody because I am embarrassed over it and no I definitely do not deseve sympathy for that one. But to suffer six weeks non stop? Does show my body has a major problem eliminating toxins and cannot seem to do so, even though I am on the candida diet. I do not know which one of the cigarette toxins is mostly responsible for what has happened. I can tell you that these have been my symptoms - severe nausea, abdominal cramping, muscle spasms (tics), worse depression, crying/salivating uncontrollably, worse anxiety and panic attacks, itching inside the nose and a strange prickling sensation as well (I have no idea what that is, but i've had it before when exposed to toxins). I also developed night sweats, but they haven't lasted. The rest have. I don't know anybody that would have this go on for six weeks like this, it sounds insane, but I can only put it down to the cigarettes, as I don't know what else it could be (I've not done anything else)... Some people try to make out there are benefits to smoking, like increasing glutathione and it helps avoid these old age mental disease (probably because it kills them before they get there). I don't know what to think of those things....but I do know this, my experience tells me that at the very least, the modern day cigarettes should be avoided at all costs. > > I was thinking about this just today. I once heard someone speaking on a radio show that had been mercury toxic to the point that she lost a lot of her mental abilities and her memory (much like I was before I started chelation). She made the point that some people with mercury poisoning don't get sick and some people who smoke cigarretes don't get sick the way she did. It's when you have mercury fillings and smoke that you can get really sick. What I have read somewhere is that the cadmium drives the copper deeper into the body tissues. I can't remember where I read this. I was thinking that if the mercury causes the mineral derangement that prevents you from excreting the copper and that the cadmium and the copper is really what screws us up so bad. I was like you. Started smoking cigarettes in my late thirties and thought it would be the same as when I was a teenager and smoked for a couple of years. It was the same time that my fillings were getting old and needing replaced. I was driving my truck each day smoking cigarettes and eating candy bars. > > Quote
