Guest guest
Marlena is right. I've had all types of autoimmune symptoms under the sun, and most went away when I upped my dosage of Thyroid hormone. I'am from New Zealand, so I think it's the equavalent of Armour. There is really no harm in taking more of your hormone if you feel ou need to, provided you still follow up with a doctor's visit and regular check ups. I ahve been adjusting my own dosage of medication for years by monitoring my pulse through out the day. 80 beat/min is what you want to aim for roughly. If your pulse is under 78/min, you should take more replacement hormone. I had hyperthyroidism for years before I had radio-iodine treatment and then went hypo. The worse thing that can happen with too much replacement hormone is that you'd notice that your heart rate is faster and and you feel too hot all the time. If it gets that way, just cut back. Experiment a little, take charge! You are not going to die from being a little hyper unless you keep it that way for a while and I guarantee you, you will notice. It's less dangerous for you to be a little hyper rather than underactive, in which case your whole metabolism slows down and your whole body becomes sluggish and this makes you pile on the weight and also your body does not digest properly uner this condition. This really leads to a whole lot of other problems. With overdosing, all you have to do is cut back! I've really come to understand this in the last half year and I feel so much better after I started taking more thyroid hormone as my TSH was way elevated. So take charge, learn all about it and help your body out! I am also taking DHEA which helps to balance out my oestrogen levels. I suspect that is the real culprit, the hormonal going ons inside our female bodies!
